There are many opinions on the topic of artificial intelligence risks and dangers. On one side there are people saying if AI is not regulated it could be the end of the human race. On the other side people are saying we do not have anything to worry about.
This quote is a good summation of what is happening. AI is in its infancy stages. It is maturing and evolving very rapidly. AI has already done things people thought would take another 10 years. As artificial intelligence matures and goes from being an infant to a teenager how will it change? Once AI believes it is smarter than those that created it how will it react? Anyone have rebellious teenagers?
It seems it would be better to be safe than sorry. People who are worried about AI include Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk. So you have the richest person in the world, one of the smartest people in the world and basically the real life Iron Man. Probably people we should listen to. If artificial intelligence is regulated and nothing happens then who cares. If AI is not regulated and issues arise such as mentioned by Elon Musk, Bill Gates and Stephen Hawking we are all going to care.
