Grocery Robots Doing the Shopping For You.

When I think of grocery robots doing shopping for me the first thing that pops into my mind is a robot walking down a grocery aisle pushing a shopping cart.  This isn’t a 1970s cartoon.  Grocery robots are alive and well and housed in immense warehouses.  The distribution center and supermarket are being combined into one building.  COVD-19 has caused huge demand for curbside pick up, but instead of having people doing the shopping robots will be doing the shopping.

It is possible that in the future, there may be grocery stores that utilize robots to perform some or all of the tasks involved in shopping. There are already a number of grocery stores and supermarkets that are using robots to assist with tasks such as stocking shelves, scanning and bagging items, and helping customers find products.

However, it is unlikely that robots will completely replace human workers in grocery stores anytime in the near future. While robots may be able to perform certain tasks more efficiently and accurately than humans, they are not yet able to perform all of the tasks involved in shopping. For example, they may not be able to provide customer service or deal with unexpected issues that arise.

Overall, it is likely that robots will continue to play a role in grocery stores and supermarkets, but they will likely work alongside human workers rather than replacing them entirely.
