Join the Discussion on Supply Chain Disruption and Redesign.

COVID-19 has caused supply chain disruption in every industry and every country.  It seems that consultants are popping up left and right to show everyone how to mitigate issues caused by the pandemic.  Get a good understanding of what is going on before asking a consultant for help.  Hopefully consultants will join this discussion to show what they do know.  Follow this link to the Supply Chain Disruption Discussion in our LinkedIn group.  This quote was used during the ebusiness boom as well as the social media craze.  May fit here as well: “When dealing with consultants do your due diligence, to get business many promise big results but deliver little.” ~Dave Waters

Why Participate in the Discussion?

Participating in discussions is a great way to increase your network.  I knew a VP who would go to discussion groups and ask questions that he already knew the answer to because that was one of the ways he found job candidates.  His questions were interview questions without people even knowing it.  If you are thinking about working with a Supply Chain Disruption consultant invite them to the group and have them participate.  Use the group to do the first pass of what they know about the topic.  Supply Chain Disruption and Redesign is a topic right now in many boardrooms.

We aren’t trying to sell anything here.  Our goal is to have a great community to learn from.  Anyone can participate.  The Supply Chain Today LinkedIn group has over 115,000 members.  We have people in the group who are just starting their career to CEOs.  We are using this as a pilot to see if we should do more discussions like this.  Don’t be shy, get involved.  Ask a question, provide an answer.  Making a simple comment saying “Thanks for the information” goes a long way.

  • “Labor accounts for 75% of the cost of transporting shipments by truck, so adopters can begin to realize those savings. Beyond that, while truckers are prohibited from driving more than 11 hours per day without taking an eight-hour break, a driverless truck can drive for the entire day.” ~Ryan Petersen
  • “The coronavirus has the potential to greatly accelerate the usage of robots and artificial intelligence throughout the supply chain.” ~Dave Waters
