Pepsi Reveals Tesla Semi Efficiency is Better Than Official Claims.

Pepsi has been very positive about the efficiency of the Tesla Semi. In an interview with electrive.com, Dejan Antunovic, PepsiCo’s electrification program manager, said that the Tesla Semi achieves an average efficiency of 1.7 kilowatt hours per mile (kWh/mi), the equivalent of 1.1 kWh per kilometer (kWh/km). This is significantly better than the efficiency of diesel-powered semi trucks, which typically get around 6-8 mpg.

Antunovic also said that the Tesla Semi is able to drive energy-neutrally on the way back from the Donner Pass in the Sierra Nevada by recuperating braking energy. This means that the truck is able to generate more electricity than it consumes on this stretch of highway.

Pepsi has been using the Tesla Semi for deliveries in Northern California since December 2022. The company has 21 Tesla Semis in its fleet, and it plans to add more in the future.

Pepsi’s experience with the Tesla Semi has shown that it is a very efficient and sustainable way to transport goods. The company is saving money on fuel costs and reducing its environmental impact at the same time.
