The World’s Smartest Robot Is Living in Vancouver.

Does the world’s smartest robot live in Vancouver?  What we can be sure of is that robots get smarter every day.  The smartest robot today won’t be the smartest tomorrow.  The world is changing faster than ever before.  What was once science fiction is now science fact.  Get involved and learn about robots.  Robots come in all shapes and sizes.  From self driving cars to humanoid robots.  From robots in your computer to robots that vacuum your house… they ar everywhere.

It is difficult to determine the “world’s smartest robot” as different robots are designed to perform different tasks and have different capabilities. Some robots may be particularly skilled at completing certain tasks, while others may excel at others.

One robot that has received a lot of attention in recent years is Sophia, a humanoid robot developed by Hanson Robotics. Sophia has advanced artificial intelligence and can engage in conversation, make facial expressions, and even hold a simple conversation. However, it should be noted that Sophia’s capabilities are limited to those that have been programmed into it and it does not have the same level of intelligence as a human.

Another example of a highly advanced robot is DeepMind’s AlphaGo, which was the first artificial intelligence system to defeat a professional human player at the game of Go. AlphaGo was able to analyze and evaluate a vast number of possible moves, making it highly skilled at the game.

Ultimately, it is difficult to determine the “world’s smartest robot” as intelligence can be difficult to quantify and compare across different domains.

Quotes about Robots

  • “You take the best and brightest 200 human beings on the planet, you scan their brains and you get robots that to all intents and purposes are indivisible from the humans on which they are based, except a thousand times faster and better.” ~Robin Hanson
  • “Robots will be able to do everything better than us…I am not sure exactly what to do about this. This is really the scariest problem to me.” ~Elon Musk
  • “It’s not if robots are going to replace humans, it is when are robots going to replace humans?” ~Dave Waters
  • “I’m not a big fan of self-driving cars where there’s no steering wheel or brake pedal. Knowing what I know about computer vision and AI, I’d be pretty uncomfortable with that. But I am a fan of a combined system – one that can brake for you if you fall asleep at the wheel, for example.” ~Oren Etzioni
  • “The Internet lets every person reach out and touch all the information in the world. But robotics lets you reach out and touch and manipulate all the stuff in the world — and so it is not just restricted to information, it is everything.” ~Marc Raibert
  • “Let’s start with the three fundamental Rules of Robotics…. We have: one, a robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. Two, a robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. And three, a robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.” ~Isaac Asimov
  • “The metaverse is coming. Metaverse is not only a place to game. Future worlds will be photorealistic, obey the laws of physics and be inhabited by human avatars and AI beings. We will create a future in these metaverses before actually downloading the blueprints to be fab’ed in the physical world.” ~Jensen Huang, Nvidia CEO.
  • “Neuralink, OpenAI, SpaceX, Starlink, Tesla Bot, Tesla Phone… what does Elon Musk have in store for us?” ~Dave Waters
  • “The machine has no feelings, it feels no fear and no hope … it operates according to the pure logic of probability. For this reason I assert that the robot perceives more accurately than man.” ~Max Frisch
