VIDEO: Elon Musk’s Neuralink – implantable brain machine interfaces.

Neuralink Corporation is co-founded by Elon Musk and is developing implantable brain machine interfaces.  Yes, you heard right, implantable brain machine interfaces.  Basically connecting brains to computers.  Another way to put it – artificial intelligence for your brain.

Implantable brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) are systems that allow humans to communicate with computers or other devices directly through the brain, using electrodes implanted in the brain. BMIs are a type of neurotechnology that has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with technology and could have a wide range of applications, including the treatment of neurological conditions, the enhancement of human cognitive abilities, and the development of new forms of communication.

Neuralink is a neurotechnology company founded in 2016 by Elon Musk and others, with the goal of developing implantable BMIs. The company is researching a variety of applications for BMIs and is working to advance the technology in order to make it more practical and widely available.

There are many challenges involved in developing implantable BMIs, including the need to miniaturize the technology, the need to ensure the long-term reliability and safety of the devices, and the need to overcome ethical and social issues related to the use of the technology. Despite these challenges, implantable BMIs have the potential to transform many aspects of our lives and could eventually become a common way for humans to interact with technology.

Elon Musk Quotes

  • “I came to the conclusion that we should aspire to increase the scope and scale of human consciousness in order to better understand what questions to ask. Really, the only thing that makes sense is to strive for greater collective enlightenment.”  ~Elon Musk
  • “I like the word ‘autopilot’ more than I like the word ‘self-driving.’ ‘Self-driving’ sounds like it’s going to do something you don’t want it to do. ‘Autopilot’ is a good thing to have in planes, and we should have it in cars.” ~Elon Musk
  • “If you go back a few hundred years, what we take for granted today would seem like magic – being able to talk to people over long distances, to transmit images, flying, accessing vast amounts of data like an oracle. These are all things that would have been considered magic a few hundred years ago.”  ~Elon Musk
  • “I’m interested in things that change the world or that affect the future and wondrous, new technology where you see it, and you’re like, ‘Wow, how did that even happen? How is that possible?’” ~Elon Musk
  • “I’m not trying to be anyone’s savior. I’m just trying to think about the future and not be sad.” ~Elon Musk
  • “When I was in college, I wanted to be involved in things that would change the world. Now I am.”  ~Elon Musk
