Will the Coronavirus Speed Up Robot Usage?

Will we soon have a coronavirus robot deliverying product to our front door?  The coronavirus has made everyone aware that social distancing may be part of our future.  How could robots and artificial intelligence help supply chain battle the coronavirus and future pandemics?  First, due to the coronavirus there is a shortage of truck drivers to deliver products to grocery stores.  With self-driving semis, trucks are able to deliver product 24/7.  Second, companies like Amazon and Walmart and hiring people to keep up with the demand the coronavirus has caused for food and such things as toilet paper.  Fulfillment centers continue to increase automation and anyone who had reservations regarding automation will now likely be pushing automation.  Third, last mile delivery has always been a problem.  Robots and drones doing last mile delivery greatly improve delivery time from days to hours.

In conclusion, the coronavirus will most likely accelerate the development of robots and artificial intelligence throughout the supply chain.
